Rocket Launching Days

During the students’ 5 days spent at STARBASE Goodfellow, students learn about Newton’s Laws of Motion by launching rockets. Volunteers are needed to set up and help students launch rockets. This is a great opportunity to be a positive role model for our students. Rocket launching is always a great day, but our volunteers make it even better!

Upcoming Rocket Launching Days:

  • Rocket launching will begin in Aug at the start of a new school year.

Volunteers can come by Bldg. 901 at 1300 to help set up launchers. Launching will be finished by 1400.

If interested in volunteering for Rocket Launching, please call 325-654-4740, email us at starbasegoodfellow@samfa.org, or fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page.

STEM Career Presenter

Our curriculum is based on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) content areas. One of our goals is to encourage students to consider a career field in these areas.  We are always in need of volunteers to present their careers to students in order spark interest in that field.

Available Career Guide Dates:

  • STEM presenters/visitors will begin in Aug at the start of a new school year!

  • Most of our presenters speak to 2 groups of students for 30 minutes each.

If interested in being a STEM Career Presenter, please call us at 325-654-4740, email us at starbasegoodfellow@samfa.org, or fill out the contact form below.

We also need assistance in replenishing supplies for our hands-on STEM activities throughout the year. Volunteers will help in:

  2. Re-stocking chemicals for experiments
